Wait for a really hot, dry day....

I did my decks, basically used a brush, the wood is getting on in age, but that allows it to soak up a lot of the stain. Hard work on my knees, but I used a big brush, just lay it on and let it soak in, second time to brush out where it's too much... and add more where it's soaked in (but really doesn't take more at this point.)

A little harder on vertical surfaces, but let it soak in, catch the drips, so start at top and work down.
